Finance Officer – Belfast City Centre
SALARY: Starting at £24,496 + per annum (to be reviewed incrementally)
EMPLOYMENT: Permanent | Full-time (35 hours a week)
Reed Accountancy is delighted to be partnered with a respected and award-winning client operating within the legal sector and based in Belfast City Centre. Due to continued growth, they are currently seeking a Finance Officer to join their dynamic team on a full-time and permanent basis.
The successful Finance Officer will be responsible for supporting the Head of Finance and Business services in the provision of a high quality and efficient financial/administrative support function.
Key Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the accurate recording of financial transactions using Sage 50 accounting software, to include sales ledger, purchase ledger, petty cash, credit cards and bank lodgements in accordance with financial policies and procedures and relevant accounting standards.
* Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly finance reports.
* Preparation of claims for funding and collation of backup to support year end claims.
* Assist in the preparation for year-end statutory audit.
* Prepare payroll including, processing, collating and filing of documentation.
* Provide high quality support to Senior Management, including to provide minutes and governance support.
* Create, develop and maintain effective working relationships with service users/external agencies and relevant stakeholders.
* Provide HR administrative support.
* Prepare monthly and quarterly management information reports.
* Assist the Head of Finance in the provision of facilities and ICT support.
* Provide occasional backup to front of house services during periods of annual leave/absences.
What you need to succeed:
* At least 1 year’s full time equivalent experience working within a finance/bookkeeping role.
* Experience of providing effective administrative support to Senior Management
* Qualification in accounting/bookkeeping (desirable).
* Experience in payroll processing and recording.
* IT proficient with the use of Microsoft packages to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal – with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
* Ability to manage and prioritise your own workload while working under pressure and adhering to deadlines.
* Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
* Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
* Willingness to work flexibly on occasion as may be required.
