THE EXTRAORDINARY STORY OF ROCHELLE'S COMPASSION
Housing in Westminster City Council is a world of extraordinary stories. Where kindness is key and community connection comes first.
Our people lead with empathy, always. Nobody lives those values better than Rochelle. Building on her experience from the frontline, she now consistently leads the team, thinking creatively and ensuring they go above and beyond for the local people they work with. Take Peter, a man struggling to settle into his new flat after a lifetime on the streets. Faced with loneliness, and a distrust of authority, he found it difficult to adjust to his new reality. Rochelle was not only his housing officer; she was a friendly face in good times and bad, and the support system he needed to get him back on his feet.
The work she did with him was invaluable. And the change almost immediate. Now she's on a mission to change more lives, and to transform the way that anti:social behaviour is looked at throughout Westminster.
The Role:
As a Void Work Operations Officer in the Temporary Accommodation Affordable Housing Team, you can make your own powerful contribution by enhancing living standards in Westminster. Working alongside our well:respected Housing Investment Team, you will play an integral role in void work projects, focusing on improving temporary and affordable housing.
Specifically, you will collaborate with a wide variety of multidisciplinary stakeholders to deliver impactful and highly innovative housing projects that will enhance the lives of our local residents. Combining project management with financial expertise, you will support the Building Inspector in confirming and signing:off on building works, and conducting site visits.
Monitoring the progress of void work projects, you will have the chance to develop your Excel and Power BI capabilities as you create project schedules and budget tracking processes, build and maintain financial models, and see to it that deadlines are being met. Whether monitoring variations in the budget or delivering reports to stakeholders to update them on the progress of projects, you will have the chance to develop your financial management skills with the support of an experienced and focused team.
You will also be tasked with maintaining rigorous health and safety standards, helping us comply with the relevant regulations : so this really is a great opportunity to take your skills to the next level.

About You:
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to meaningful housing projects that will ultimately make a real difference to our local communities. Capable of balancing the needs of multiple projects, you will be comfortable working to tight deadlines, and you will enjoy partnering with a wide array of stakeholders : so great communication skills are essential.
If you have experience or a relevant qualification in void work operations that would be a bonus, and it would be helpful if you have some experience of project management in the housing sector.
