Flexible, Hybrid working: 3 days a week together in either London, Birmingham or Leeds (flexible 2 days remote wherever).
As a Capability Product Manager focusing on Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) products, you will have the exciting opportunity to lead and innovate in the rapidly growing field of financial services. This role involves spearheading the strategy, design, and execution of our BNPL offerings, aligning them with customer needs and market trends.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing the end-to-end development of the BNPL product, from conceptualization to launch. You'll collaborate closely with Product Owners and their teams, guiding the evolution of the product, ensuring its alignment with business goals, and maintaining its competitiveness in the market. Your involvement will span the entire lifecycle of the product, requiring you to assist teams in refining the product, prioritizing features, and solving any challenges that arise during development.
Managing stakeholders and internal subject matter experts will be a key part of your role, requiring excellent communication and relationship-building skills. You'll also play a crucial role in developing and implementing the Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy, ensuring the successful launch and adoption of the product.
The immediate assignment: Be part of the transformation of our digital experiences. You’ll be responsible for the performance of payments journeys, across the BT Consumer group, including EE. You'll operate at squad level, leading a cross-functional team of colleagues, delivering world-class products. You'll influence the experience of millions of customers. The exact digital product or journey in scope of any of our roles will evolve over time.
Your responsibilities:
1. Be accountable for the product vision and strategy to define and evolve objectives and key results for your squad.
2. Inspire, coach, and guide a squad to ensure the delivery of outcomes to support the customer and business.
3. Interrogate customer insight and data to identify key customer needs whilst supporting business priorities.
4. Provide credible input into your squad strategy and prioritize a backlog to support this with a positive value to effort ratio.
5. Leverage the squad's skills to collaboratively discover and iterate solutions that are valuable, usable, feasible, and viable.
6. Clearly communicate your product’s performance and demonstrate how this contributes to the digital and business objectives.
7. Nurture partnerships with stakeholders and collaborate with them to achieve the product vision.
You'll have the following skills & experience:
1. Demonstrated prior experience of stakeholder management in a large, complex organization.
2. Commercial experience in a Product role at a technology-led organization, in payments.
3. Exposure, passion, or interest in payments and money flows.
4. Experience influencing and/or making data-informed decisions.
5. The ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
General:
1. Demonstrable success as a product manager over large and complex digital initiatives.
2. Understanding of agile methodologies, ideally as part of a squad.
3. Strong commercial background in data-driven product insight, with excellent knowledge of product KPIs, and ability to draw insight from the numbers and translate to business requirements.
4. Historic champion of Digital.
5. Adaptable approach to understanding a product’s features and technical composition. Knowledge of new and emerging technologies and the potential they provide.
6. Strong collaboration mindset with peers, scrum teams, and business stakeholders, all to maximize value created by the squad.
