Your Role As an Architect specialising in Sciences and Education, you will leverage your extensive experience to design innovative environments for scientific research and educational institutions. You will provide technical leadership, manage project delivery, and contribute to business development efforts. Your role will involve working on all project stages, with a particular focus on RIBA Stages 4/5 and project delivery. You will be based mostly in Cambridge, with 1 day per week working from our London office. What You Will Do Lead multiple projects simultaneously, working with the team to design and deliver major science, education, and institutional projects Manage project lifecycle from inception to completion Represent Gensler on-site for projects, liaising with clients, contractors, and consultants Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design challenges Maintain and develop relationships with consultants, Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and contractors in the Cambridge area Contribute to business development efforts, leveraging existing relationships and building new ones Lead and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment Deliver both interiors and architecture projects, demonstrating versatility in project types Travel between Cambridge and our London office to build operational partnerships in both locations Your Qualifications RIBA or ARB registered 8-12 years of post-ARB qualification experience Strong background in Sciences, Education, and/or Institutional work Extensive experience in RIBA Stages 4/5 and project delivery Proven track record in design, detailing, and construction documentation Excellent network and relationships with consultants, PMs, QSs, and contractors in Cambridge Experience in or strong interest in Business Development, with a willingness to learn and grow in this area Proficiency in Revit and capability of working to BIM Level 2 standards Experience with Rhino, Grasshopper, and 3ds Max is advantageous In-depth knowledge of UK building regulations, standards, and building structures Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and relationship-management skills Ability to understand how buildings are constructed and create technical documents that succinctly describe the work to be done Willingness to work in Cambridge most of the week, with one day per week in the London office This job description reflects the core activities of the role although there will be changes in the emphasis of duties as required from time to time.
