Hagley Catholic High School is looking to recruit a teacher of Spanish and French for an April 2025 start or sooner, if possible. It would be desirable that the candidate can teach across all year groups from KS3 to KS4, with a specialism in Spanish to GCSE and French at KS3, as a minimum requirement. The Language Department is popular and very well regarded. It has a very well-established team of staff; schemes of learning are well sequenced, and students make excellent progress. Over 60% of all students study a language at GCSE and the EBACC pathway is widely promoted and an inclusive pathway of choice. At Key Stage 3 students’ study both French and Spanish in Year 7 and 8 then choose their language pathway at the start of Year 9. The Department has four refurbished classrooms with state-of-the-art IT facilities, and this is a fabulous opportunity in a very good school. The successful candidate must have experience of teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4 as a minimum, with the ability to teach Spanish to GCSE level and possess a deep knowledge and understanding of current languages specifications at Key Stage 4. The successful candidate would join a team of experienced and talented teachers in a strong department, who were complemented during our last inspection in 2019.
