An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the 0-19 Service at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust as a 0-19 Community Nursery Nurse.

The postholder will be a key member of the 0-19 Service, who provides Community Public Health delivery through the Healthy Child Programme. The post is within the Fantastic 0-19 Service, which effectively delivers Health Promotion and supports the delivery of the 0-19 Service Specification to ensure that the children and young people in Sheffield reach their full potential safely.
The 0-19 Community Nursery Nurse will be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills, have experience of working with children and families, and be able to function well as part of a Team and wider Partners.
Main duties of the job
The 0-19 Community Nursery Nurse will be responsible for:
1. Providing a comprehensive service to children and families 0-19 years, supervised by a member of the HCP Team.
2. Supporting the 0-19 team in the delivery of the 0-19 Service Specification.
3. Contributing to activities directed towards promoting the health of the local population.
4. Delivering interventions as agreed with the 0-19 team to support children and families in various settings, including the child health clinic, children's centres, school, outreach centres, and clients' homes.

Job responsibilities
To deliver elements of the 0-19 Service specification under the supervision of the 0-19 Team, using evidence-based tools and implementing intervention programmes/packages of care with children and families planned by the Health Visitors/School Nurses following an assessment of need.
To follow the agreed plan set by the Health Visitor/School Nurse in agreement with the parent/carer for interventions and support to children and families where there are identified additional needs, vulnerabilities, and/or safeguarding issues.
To work in partnership with the local community Early Years (Best Start), Children's Centres, Multi Agency Support Team (MAST), and other agencies/partners to assess, identify, and meet the public health needs of the children and families within the community.
Person Specification
Experience
* At least 2 years' post-qualification experience.
* Previous experience in a child care setting.
* Experience of working in a team.
* Experience of coordinating and prioritizing own workload.
* Experience of facilitating groups.
* Previous work with families and knowledge of basic parenting issues.
* Previous experience of working within the community.
* Experience of working in areas of social and economic disadvantage.
Knowledge and Skills
* Knowledge of child development.
* Able to demonstrate the ability to provide a wide range of nursery nurse activities.
* Able to demonstrate evidence of recent updating (within the last year).
* Able to demonstrate an understanding of equal opportunities and knowledge of health and safety issues.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work alone with clients within an agreed package of care.
* Able to work as part of a team and independently.
* Ability to identify when to liaise with the 0-19 Team.
* Ability to build appropriate relationships with clients and their families.
* Able to manage time, prioritize, and have an organized approach to work.
* Ability to maintain accurate and clear records.
* Knowledge of changing health care environment in relation to services, i.e., local 0-19 service specification.
* Some knowledge and understanding of child protection issues.
* Experience of working with children with special needs/disabilities.
* Ability to run health promotion group sessions.
Qualifications and Training
* Level 3 Childcare qualification or equivalent plus additional training and/or experience to diploma level.
* Level 4 Cert in Early Years OR Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) Level 4 OR BTEC Professional Diploma in Specialised Play for Sick Children and Young People - Level 4. OR Diploma in Childcare & Education (DCE) OR Parenting Training or equivalent experience.
