Job Description:
Our client is looking for an experienced Grounds Maintenance and Street Cleansing Manager for a 12 month Maternity Cover.
We are seeking a full-time Team Manager to oversee the operational management of some of the Council’s public realm facilities and contracts, including Parks and open spaces, Street Cleansing, and Cemeteries. This role is ideal for a candidate who enjoys variety and managing relationships.
You will be managing an established and knowledgeable team of officers and working with our contractors to deliver Cleaner and Greener Services to our Borough.
Key responsibilities:
1. Manage six highly experienced team members
2. Ensure the Health and Safety of our parks and open spaces is maintained in conjunction with our contractors
3. Provide expert advice to Councillors, senior managers, and residents
4. Undertake and progress existing projects in line with our Climate Emergency Action Plan
5. Stay updated with current legislation and government changes
6. Train and coach colleagues, including new hires and cross-training within the team
Candidate requirements:
1. Experience of working in an office environment
2. A commitment to embracing change
3. The ability to interpret, extract, and assess important information
4. The ability to work accurately with volume
5. Customer service ethos, striving to continually improve
6. The ability to work on their own initiative and take ownership, as well as working as part of a team
7. Collaborate with colleagues to achieve service performance targets
8. Good IT skills
