What we are looking for We are currently seeking a M&E Team Leader to join our M&E Team, based at the racecourse in Ascot, Berkshire. What you’ll be doing Mechanical/ Electrical Team Leader will be responsible for co-ordination, as directed by the Facilities Management team, in the delivery of all Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing elements across Ascot Racecourse. You will provide building services engineering to support the long- term maintenance, longevity, day to day operation and management of the Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing Team. You will provide knowledge of operation and building infrastructure, including mechanical and building fabric. • Responsible for the people management of the M&E Team and acts as a role model in setting exacting standards of personnel commitment. • Responsible for Health and Safety within the M&E Team and contractors under your direct control, making sure that RAMS are received, filed, and followed. • To be responsible for raising orders against M&E budget lines, making sure any overspends are communicated and agreed with the Facilities Manager. • To agree shift patterns with the Facilities Manager to minimise overtime. • To ensure and maintain the estate in accordance with operating procedures. • To undertake regular inspections of the estate, making sure any faults are repaired within deadlines. • To conduct regular tests of alarms and systems, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and kept up to date. • To be responsible for procurement of materials, tools, and service providers for maintenance tasks with the Support of the Facilities Management team. • Plan project budgets with Facilities Manager and M&E Manager • Supervise the running of M&E projects in support of the M&E Manager including consulting with other Team Leaders to implement skills such as Maintenance, ICT etc. • To Provide out of hours call out on a 1 in 4-week basis. • Produce weekly reports for the Facilities Team Manager. • Produce weekly planners for the team to understand the needs and wants of the business. • Sign off projects with key stakeholders. • Take accountability for outcomes. • Support Racedays as applicable but ensure shift patterns reflect required cover. • Such other duties as the Company may, at times, reasonably require. Skills and experience you can bring • Recognised formal Mechanical or Electrical qualification (City and Guilds or equivalent) • Considerable experience as a building service engineer for a large organisation. • Reading and understanding of drawings. • Hands-on experience of building services and building management control systems. • Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety, Electricity at Work regulations and COSHH requirements. • Experience of fault-finding techniques. • Experience of leading a team. • Computer literate with a good standard of ICT knowledge including Microsoft Office.
