Your impact: As a key driver of business excellence at Geoquip Marine, you will directly shape the success of our global operations. You'll lead the development and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives, collaborating closely with stakeholders across the business to understand their unique needs and ensure seamless alignment with our overall procurement strategy. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying and securing reliable, cost-effective suppliers who meet our stringent standards for quality and safety, while also contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that optimise efficiency and reduce costs throughout the supply chain. The Job: As a Senior Buyer - Strategy, you’ll be involved in a variety of key activities, including: Contributing to the development and implementation of procurement best practices to support organisational growth. Developing and implementing effective supply strategies for key spend categories. Leading the full procurement cycle, from preparing and issuing tenders/RFQs to evaluating bids, negotiating contracts, and managing approvals. Managing and reviewing existing agreements and supplier relationships to ensure they continue to meet our business needs. Negotiating effectively with suppliers to achieve the best possible commercial outcomes. Building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders and colleagues across the organisation. Providing regular reports to senior management on supplier performance and developing strategies to address any challenges. Maintaining accurate and organised procurement records for audit purposes. Identifying opportunities for supply chain improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Providing support to the logistics department as required. Contributing positively to team meetings and other engagements. The Person: Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, and ideally CIPS qualified with demonstrable experience in a similar strategic buying role. Proven track record of strategic purchasing, including establishing and managing supply agreements. Experience using ERP systems and/or procurement software. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, the wider Microsoft Office Suite, and purchasing systems. Solid understanding of UK procurement regulations, best practices, and category management. Experience in negotiating supplier agreements and driving improvements in procurement processes. Knowledge of supply chain management principles, vendor evaluation, and global logistics.
