About the Role
The Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering department is a strategic priority and key growth area within our college and the local community, with a strong focus on welding and fabrication. We offer a wide range of courses, including study programmes, adult training, and Higher Education at our City Campus in Sunderland. We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative individual to engage with and inspire the next generation of welders. This part-time role provides an exciting opportunity to play a key part in delivering high-quality welding provision, reflecting the latest industry standards and helping students succeed in their training and career pathways.
About the Candidate
We are seeking a qualified welding professional with strong industry experience who is motivated to share their skills and expertise. Whether you’re an experienced welder looking for a pathway into teaching or someone with extensive welding knowledge and a desire to guide the next generation, we want to hear from you. A qualification in welding or a related discipline is essential, but we also welcome applications from industry professionals new to teaching, as full support and training will be provided. This is your chance to make a real impact on the future of welding while transitioning into a fulfilling teaching role.
These appointments offer the opportunity for EITHER current teaching practitioners OR those currently in industry looking for a career change with an ambition to teach. For the latter, the college will support individuals regarding achievement of a teaching qualification within an appropriate timescale upon joining the college.
