WHAT TO EXPECT
Performing major and minor repairs to heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and other vehicles in the company fleet, performing regular inspections and general preventive maintenance services.
Carrying out servicing checks on the electrical systems and diagnosing any faulty components and fit replacements, maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired or handled.
Providing repair services to clients on the road in case of emergencies. This is a dual role and aspects of driving will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain the fleet
2. Maintain third party equipment when instructed
3. Distribute and transport materials, components, and sub-assemblies to meet operational requirements on behalf of JLR
4. Collect and verify delivery instructions
5. Ensure safe operational conditions of vehicles and assist in the loading and unloading of vehicles
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
1. A Level 3 NVQ Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician qualification or served a recognised apprenticeship as a Heavy Goods Mechanic/Technician/Fitter
2. Hold HGV licence (class 1) and have knowledge of associated duties, i.e., secure loading, use of chains/stretching equipment
3. Knowledge of load security as well as Government and European Union traffic regulations including tachographs
4. Ability to work overtime, unsocial hours, and be available to work all start times
