Van Driver / Helper
The Van Driver / Helper will be responsible for providing transportation support to engineers within the Maintenance & Engineering departments. This role involves driving a company van, in London and the Home Counties, delivering equipment, tools, and materials to the engineers on site. In addition, you may act as an additional worker on client’s sites as part of the maintenance team. The primary goal is to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of personnel and resources to various work sites.
You will need to a clean driving licence and you will be asked to complete a basic DBS check.
Key Responsibilities:
* Transport engineers and their equipment/materials to and from assigned work sites in a timely and safe manner.
* Assist with loading and unloading equipment, tools, and materials onto the van.
* Assist engineers on tasks such as filter replacements, AHU cleaning, ductwork cleaning
* Ensure the van is properly maintained and perform regular inspections to ensure it is in good working condition.
* Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving and maintain a safe driving record.
* Plan routes to optimise efficiency and avoid delays due to traffic or road conditions.
* Assist engineers in setting up and dismantling equipment at work sites.
* Coordinate with the engineering team to ensure timely arrival and departure from work sites.
* Assist in the maintenance of accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and any maintenance or repair work performed on the van.
* Report any accidents, incidents, or vehicle issues to the appropriate supervisor promptly.
* Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
