As the Head of Digital, you will be responsible for driving the digital strategy of The Scottish Sun.

Your role: As the Head of Digital, you will be responsible for driving the digital strategy of The Scottish Sun, enhancing our online presence, and ensuring our content reaches and resonates with a diverse and growing audience. You will lead a team of digital content creators, developers, and analysts, working collaboratively with other departments to deliver compelling and interactive content across all digital platforms.
Day to day you will:
1. Oversee The Scottish Sun website, social channels and video output.
2. Edit stories to ensure the highest standard of presentation, particularly in headlines, pictures and video, to maximise traffic and dwell time.
3. Work with editorial colleagues across our integrated newsroom for fresh lines, particularly on large live and breaking stories.
4. Manage online news operation, audience teams and audio/video departments.
5. Work collaboratively with internal departments including commercial and marketing.
6. Interpret analytics to report to colleagues and the wider business on a regular basis.
7. Maintain an excellent relationship and seek opportunities with the online, audience, sport, tech and video teams across the whole of News Corp.
What we are looking for from you:
1. Digital experience on a fast-paced national news platform.
2. Experience in managing and leading high performance teams.
3. Expert in SEO, social media and digital news delivery.
4. Experience of video production, commissioning and knowledge of emerging platforms.
5. In-depth knowledge of analytics and ability to interpret data and implement new strategies.
6. Keen awareness of the digital media environment, trends and audience behaviours.
7. Skilled in creating commercially viable editorial projects and initiatives.
8. Understanding of Scottish Sun DNA and how it translates to digital platforms.
9. Fully aware of legal issues, the Editors’ Code of Practice and IPSO standards.
