Technical Director – Bridges
Salary: £65,000 – £80,000
Location: Surrey
Benefits: car allowance + 26 days holiday, that can rise to 31 days in future
Overview:
Our client is a very well regarded, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy. They are keen to appoint a Technical Director in their bridges division, that will act as a focal point for all technical design queries for the whole group.
This position is perfectly suited to somebody with expert technical knowledge of everything bridges, who does not want to manage others, but still enjoys helping and mentoring other engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Reporting to the Regional Director and providing support in operation and project delivery.
2. Managing client relationships and ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business.
3. Project managing and taking a technical leadership role in all phases of a project, through to completion.
4. Acting as the “go to” person for the group for complex design problems.
Requirements:
1. Chartered Engineer (MICE or MIStructE)
2. Extensive bridge engineering design knowledge – this must be very current.
3. Extensive experience of working with bridges in all materials (steel, concrete, and masonry).
4. Expert knowledge of delivering projects for National Highways and Network Rail.
5. Experience in contracts and contractual issues.
6. Experience of grillage, space frame, and FEA.
7. Excellent communication, client handling, and leadership skills are essential.
