Job summary The Perinatal team are currently recruiting for a qualified Nursing Associate post following the promotion of our existing staff member. The Perinatal Team is a countywide service which offers assessment, care and treatment for women who are from 13 weeks pregnant up to 24 months who are experiencing a moderate to severe mental health diagnosis. The Nursing Associate will work alongside other health professionals within the team to provide high quality, efficient and a compassionate care to patients. The role of the Nursing Associate will work closely alongside registered Mental health nurses in providing and monitoring care. The successful candidate should have experience of caring for women with mental health conditions and be fully aware of how these conditions may increase the risk of physical health conditions. The postholder will monitor the condition and health needs of patients in their care and will be involved in shaping and supporting patients to manage their physical health. All applicants must have excellent clinical skills including, blood pressure monitoring, conducting ECG'S & completing physical examinations. The Nursing associate role will hold a small caseload under the supervision of a qualified nurse. It is important to highlight that you will be covering the whole county of Lincolnshire and daily travel will be part of this role Base of Lincoln, Grantham or Boston will be discussed at interview. Main duties of the job To be part of an integrated health/social care team providing care for service users suffering from serious and enduring mental illness. Offering nursing interventions in a wide variety of clinical, therapeutic and social forms with the aim of promoting health, wellbeing, self autonomy and independence. The post holder will have a breadth of knowledge across the lifespan and across the fields of nursing, providing holistic and person centred care and support for people of any age and in a variety of settings. The nursing associate will work independently under the leadership of the registered nurse, working within the sphere of nursing and care and within all aspects of the nursing process.
