Job Overview:
We are seeking a recently qualified Building Foreman to oversee the day-to-day operations of our construction sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising construction workers, ensuring safety compliance, managing site resources, and maintaining quality control throughout the construction process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Supervision: Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction workers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
2. Quality Control: Ensure all work meets quality standards and complies with building codes, safety regulations, and company procedures.
3. Health and Safety: Maintain and enforce a high standard of safety on site, ensuring that workers adhere to safety protocols, including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) usage.
4. Project Coordination: Assist the Site Manager with daily scheduling of tasks, materials, and manpower to ensure that deadlines are met.
5. Communication: Act as the primary point of contact between workers and project managers. Provide regular updates on the progress and any issues that arise.
6. Materials and Equipment: Oversee the management and usage of materials and equipment, ensuring they are in good condition and available for tasks.
7. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues that may arise on the job site, including delays, safety concerns, or discrepancies in quality.
8. Documentation: Assist in maintaining site logs, daily reports, and other documentation related to the project’s progress, worker attendance, and safety inspections.
9. Training: Support the training and development of less experienced workers, providing guidance on proper techniques and site protocols.
Qualifications:
* Recent qualification as a Building Foreman or relevant construction qualification (e.g., NVQ, HNC, or similar).
* A strong understanding of building processes, construction techniques, and safety protocols.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team and manage a diverse group of workers.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
* Good problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
* Knowledge of construction software and tools (desirable).
Experience:
* Previous experience in a construction-related role (e.g., site worker, assistant foreman) is beneficial.
* Hands-on experience with building materials, tools, and machinery is desirable.
Key Skills:

* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and construction drawings.
