Blackstone Recruitment are currently working with a client who are seeking experienced Health Care Assistants to join their team. Our client are a registered charity and aim to conduct the UK’s largest ever health research programme. It is designed to help people live healthier lives for longer through the discovery and testing of more effective approaches to prevention, detection, and treatment of diseases such as cancer, dementia, heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, and stroke. The fixed and mobile sites are based across the country and are currently working from : North East England, North West England, Central England, South West England and London with capacity for circa 220,000 appointments (18y/o from all backgrounds and ethnicities). Shift times for mobiles: Monday – Friday – 08:15 – 16:45 (45mins unpaid break) Saturday – 08:45 – 16:15(45mins unpaid break) Sunday – 10:45 – 16:05 (30 mins unpaid break) Role Purpose: We have some very exciting opportunities for nurses or healthcare staff to occupy the role of a HSW for the Our Future Health project. This role will play a key part in ensuring that we provide high-quality patient centred services that are led and delivered by highly skilled teams. The post holder is responsible for providing clinical excellence, ensuring that patient flow is managed effectively, without delay through the fixed site and mobile units. The HSW role is a critical operational position and will be present in each site, replicating service delivery models that we offer across all our NHS contracts within Xyla Elective Care. The role is a operational position and will be critical in ensuring that the data required for the study is gathered effectively with quality assurance. The HSW will report to the SDL role is the first line of escalation on site for all operational queries. The HSW will offer additional administrative support where required and resilience to cover breaks or cover during periods of increased activity to prevent delay to the participants being seen as well as covering periods of staffing gaps. Job Responsibilities: Strong Clinical Leadership Designing of Services Evaluation and Implementation of services Quality and Safety Essential Criteria: 1 years Phlebotomy experience along with Phlebotomy Compentencies Experience of working in an outpatients or similar clinical setting Trained as a minimum in Basic Life Support (Immediate and Advanced Life Support Training is advantageous) Sound understanding of quality standards, key performance indicators, risk assessments, incident reporting, and infection, prevention, and control Excellent communication and influencing skills. You will be highly motivated and used to working in challenging but rewarding environment. Can attend a paid 2 hour training session via teams which occurs every Friday from 10am to 12am.
