Medical Receptionist Job Summary
To accurately check patients in and out by verifying insurance, collecting payments, and maintaining patient records. Ensure smooth patient flow and foster positive patient relations.
Responsibilities
* Prepare the clinic for daily opening by reviewing systems, opening applications, and preparing registration packets
* Greet patients, provide initial paperwork, and collect insurance and ID copies
* Register patients, update records, verify insurance, and check patients out
* Handle patient payments and address billing issues
* Respond promptly to patient needs, provide excellent service, assist with follow-up appointments, and manage documentation requests
* Balance daily charges and reconcile cash, checks, and credit card payments
* Complete closing procedures and submit reports
* Maintain cash control and secure financial assets
* Ensure complete and accurate documentation
* Perform other duties as assigned
Medical Assistant Job Summary
Provides general medical care under the supervision of a licensed provider in an outpatient setting. Works directly with a franchised location, with duties and benefits varying by franchise.
Responsibilities
* Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit; prepare patient for exams
* Explain procedures and treatments to patients
* Perform tests accurately and timely
* Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
* Draw blood and prepare labs for processing
* Perform lab tests, maintain equipment, and ensure quality controls
* Respond to lab messages and callback requests
* Conduct drug screenings per regulations
* Administer immunizations and document accordingly
* Assist with referrals and pre-certifications
* Prepare exam rooms and sterilize instruments
* Maintain accurate documentation
* Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree or related experience preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are acceptable.
