The Role
Reporting into the Head of Compliance, Risk and Governance, the Data Protection and Regulatory Manager will be responsible for the delivery of all requirements under Data Protection Regulations. The role will act as the business Data Protection Officer covering all daily processes. The role will support additional regulatory obligations under Ofcom rules and be required to engage stakeholders on change implementation, internal enquiries and Compliance audits.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:
* Outline and maintain requirements under the Data Protection Act 2018, GDPR, ICO best practice guidelines and all other relevant data privacy regulations.
* Identify and mitigate risks proactively, applying SME knowledge to prevent potential risks and issues through maintaining a comprehensive control framework.
* Ensure compliance with policies and processes, streamlining processes and aligning to best practices across all business units.
* Internal and External communication by providing regular updates on horizon scan activities, also working as the point of contact for external requests from the regulator.
* Support Mandatory training and awareness developing understanding and capabilities to service customers effectively.
* Assurance Reviews on regulations impacting TTBD ensuring business units understand control gaps and working with the business to effectively close gaps identified.
* Management of all day-to-day data protection requirements such as DSARs, data breaches, security incidents, RIPAs, EBD.
Skills and experience we are looking for
* Track record of success working in compliance and DPO roles within highly regulated environments.
* Advanced understanding of Data Protection Regulations and best practices to effectively address control deficiencies.
* Experience in conducting regulatory gap analysis and policy creation.
* Experience in completing audits on Ofcom regulations.
* Able to adapt and/or have worked in a fast-paced environment.
* Ideally understands and worked in the Telecommunications industry.
