Sales and Engineering Support Engineer - Telecare and Security - (Electrical Trades)
Company Overview:
Network Communication Systems Ltd (NCS Ltd), has been trading since 1992 and designs, develops innovative Telecare/Telehealth and Door Entry/Access Control products and systems. Since the introduction of its own product range, the company has seen rapid growth and requires a person to fill this role.
Job Overview:
Responsibilities include:
* Engineering Support – resolving system faults and undertaking small installation projects. Project management duties.
* Sales Support – liaising with customers, site surveys, quotations, and related sales tasks.
These duties relate to Telecare, Warden Call, Access Control Systems, Door Entry/Fob Access, CCTV, and Automatic Swing Door Operators.
Hours of Work: 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (on-site). On-call rota of 1 in 2.
Remuneration: £30,000 to £45,000/year, depending on location, qualifications, and experience.
Objectives: Provide high-quality engineering support, meet or exceed performance targets, prioritize customer needs, and demonstrate excellent customer relations and technical skills. Support 24/7 service provision and aim for first-visit fault resolution.
Duties include:
* Maintaining and repairing equipment and systems.
* Exceeding productivity, quality, and attendance targets.
* Deep knowledge of company products for repair and functionality.
* Performing preventative maintenance and first-line repairs.
* Providing technical training and assistance.
* Resolving customer satisfaction issues proactively.
* Working flexibly across geographical areas.
* Supporting installation activities, including site surveys and commissioning.
* Participating in standby rota and project management from start to finish.
* Preparing risk assessments, method statements, and safety procedures.
* Overnight stays may be required, less than 25 nights/year.
Experience, Skills, and Attributes:
* First-class management and technical experience in relevant sector.
* CRB or similar background check required.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, MS Visio.
* Electrical/Electronic qualification at NVQ Level 3 or above.
* Basic IP network knowledge (routers, switches, IP endpoints).
* Full UK driving license.
* Strong problem-solving, customer focus, teamwork, and flexibility.
* Technical knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and networks.
* IEEE 18th Edition and Inspection/Test certificates preferred.
