Job Description Summary
As the Operational Technology Leader, you will be responsible for the ongoing strategy development and management of the Operational Technology (OT) team at the BD Plymouth manufacturing site. Implementing the OT plant strategy through direct linkage with the Plant’s 2025 Vision and Deployment process ensuring the Plants’ future OT strategy and project delivery objectives are achieved.
Responsible for creating and implementing solutions to deliver, maintain and improve Operational Performance, technology capability, data availability and Cybersecurity in the Plymouth manufacturing facility.
Ensure close working relationship with the Site Leadership Team, Operations Leadership, Project Engineers, Control Systems Engineers, Information Security Officers, site IT lead and Onsite Support to fully implement the Operational Technology strategy. Ensure clear linkage with the BD Information Security teams, the Operational Technology Centre of Excellence, and the Smart Manufacturing Council. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.

Main responsibilities will include:
* Provide leadership and guidance to the OT team to ensure project activities alignment with the Plant strategy and deployment plans.
* Provide support to requests for OT system development from the site.
* Participation in the implementation of worldwide OT initiatives, divisional initiatives, and corporate IT/OT programmes.
* Responsible for the preparation of Capex submissions, management of Capex forecasts and spending to deliver OT project objectives.
* Provide support for Capex and Cost Centre spend management relating to project and departmental budgets along with accurately forecasting spending profiles.
* Responsible for ensuring OT project objectives are agreed with the leadership team and delivered according to the business requirements.
* Development of the OT Engineering team.
* Responsible for succession planning for key technical roles within the OT team.
* Responsible for actively seeking opportunities to share learnings and copy best practice with other sites.
* Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
About you:
* Degree in Engineering or Science based discipline required.
* Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to develop and manage multi-disciplined teams.
* Extensive experience in Engineering and Operational Technology within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
* Experience in a related environment, ideally medical device manufacture or pharmaceutical or demonstrated capability within BD.
* Experience and working knowledge of change management within a regulated medical device manufacturing environment.
* Demonstrated experience with networking, software, and control systems in a related environment.
