N Position Type Non-Management As a Kitchen Receiver at W Edinburgh, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient receipt, inspection, and storage of all food and kitchen-related deliveries. You will play a critical role in maintaining quality, consistency, and organisation in the kitchen by managing stock levels and ensuring all ingredients meet our high standards. Key Responsibilities: - Receiving Deliveries: Check and verify all incoming food and kitchen supplies against purchase orders and invoices, ensuring accuracy in quantity and quality. - Quality Control: Inspect all deliveries for freshness, quality, and adherence to safety and hygiene standards, rejecting any items that do not meet requirements. - Stock Management: Organise and store food products correctly, following FIFO (First-In-First-Out) principles to minimise waste and ensure freshness. - Food Safety Compliance: Maintain HACCP records and ensure all storage areas meet food safety regulations. - Inventory Control & Ordering: Assist in stocktaking, ensuring accurate record-keeping of all ingredients and supplies. Training will be provided for those unfamiliar with placing orders. - Communication: Work closely with the kitchen team, suppliers, and purchasing department to ensure seamless stock replenishment and resolve any discrepancies. - Equipment & Area Maintenance: Keep all receiving and storage areas clean, organised, and compliant with W Edinburgh's hygiene and safety policies. Qualifications & Experience: - Previous experience in a similar role within a hospitality or foodservice environment preferred. - Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, and stock management. - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. - Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. - Basic computer literacy for inventory and reporting purposes (training available for those with limited experience in this area). - Ability to lift and carry heavy items as needed. - Flexible working hours available to suit individual needs.
