Based in the heart of Leamington Spa, Pixel Toys have spent almost a decade pushing the capabilities of mobile gaming. We have developed multiple award-winning titles, including: Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realm War; and we’re now excited to be exclusively working on a new game, unlike ANYTHING we’ve done previously!
As a forward thinking and innovative studio we are always looking for new technologies and techniques to develop and use in our games and make them even more engaging experiences for our customers.
We are excited to continue to grow our team and are always on the lookout for highly talented and motivated individuals, who are passionate about gaming and excited to join us on our ambitious journey!
The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Tools Engineer to join Pixel Toys.
In this role you'll help design and maintain our pipeline architecture, optimising tools and systems that are crucial to supporting our ever-evolving, high-end game. You'll be hands-on with build pipelines, automation tools and workflows, ensuring that everything runs smoothly across projects.
Collaboration in this role is key, working closely with Designers, Artists, and Developers to streamline workflows and implement tooling and automation solutions. You'll also take the lead on developing, maintaining, and improving CI/CD pipelines for Unity projects and third-party integrations, ensuring efficiency and minimal downtime.
When issues arise, you’ll troubleshoot and resolve them quickly, consciously looking for ways to boost performance and scalability. You'll partner with QA and Engineers to create and maintain automation test scripts, keeping quality as high and processes as smooth as possible.
You'll also play an active role in creating technical designs, participating in code reviews and continuously improving the codebase. Plus, you'll help identify and fix performance bottlenecks and bugs, ensuring our game runs at its best.
You’ll receive guidance and mentorship from experienced team members, expanding your technical knowledge particularly in server tech, tooling, and automation.
About you:
Paired with a degree from a related field, you’ll already have a good understanding of C# as well as experience developing games in the Unity game engine. You will also have basic knowledge, or an appreciation of CI/CD tools (such as Jenkins, Codebuild, TeamCity etc.).
With a positive and enthusiastic attitude, you’ll have a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration, but you will also have the ability to work independently; identifying areas of self development and taking ownership of specific tasks.
On top of this, you’ll join us with great troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Finally, you will have a genuine passion for solving technical challenges and of course, making great games.
