By leveraging cutting-edge technology, strategic partnerships, and a comprehensive SaaS-based platform, this programme will create an advanced, candidate-centric experience tailored to meet tomorrows public sector skill demands. As part of this high-impact initiative, we are establishing a Technology Hub in Stevenage that will house the development and deployment Scrum teams. We are seeking a IT Support Administrator to provide technical support, IT coordination, and hardware setup for current and future onboardings. Role The IT Support Administrator will play a key role in maintaining and improving IT support services within the Stevenage Technology Hub. The individual will work closely with the development and deployment teams, providing essential technical troubleshooting, infrastructure support, and onboarding coordination. This role requires previous experience in 1st and 2nd line IT support, with a preference for candidates who possess scripting abilities to enhance automation and efficiency in IT operations. Responsibilities Provide 1 st /2nd line IT support for the Technology Hub, resolving hardware, software, and network issues efficiently. Track entire life-cycle management IT assets and maintain accurate statuses and user assignments. Account for the organisation's IT assets and those of its clients. Act as an escalation point for 1st line support and liaise with 3rd line support where necessary. Coordinate IT & hardware setup for current and future onboardings, ensuring smooth technical integration. Support the development and deployment Scrum teams, maintaining a stable and efficient IT environment. Maintain and configure user access, permissions, and security policies in compliance with internal guidelines. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, VPN access, and cloud-based systems. Assist in the automation of IT tasks through scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or Bash). Document and update IT processes, technical guides, and troubleshooting steps. Support asset management and IT procurement processes, ensuring equipment is maintained and readily available. Work closely with third-party vendors for system support and maintenance. Provide training and guidance to new employees on IT best practices and security policies. Required Experience Proven experience in a 1st and 2nd line IT support role. Experience supporting a software development environment is highly desirable. Hands-on experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems. Familiarity with cloud-based services (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud). Exposure to DevOps tools and methodologies would be a plus. Required Skills Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience with Active Directory, Office 365 administration, and endpoint management tools. Preferred knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, Firewalls). Ability to write and use basic scripts (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively across teams. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage onboarding coordination. Ability to work independently and proactively identify areas for improvement. Required Education Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
