Overview The Manager of Education and Outreach works within the School Health Department and oversees teams responsible for student/community engagement, health/physical education, health promotion activities, as well as efforts related to improving kindergarten readiness and on-time high school graduation. In addition to integrating respective programs & strategies within the School Health umbrella, this Manager works closely with school and community leaders to enhance school and community collaboration. Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines. Job Description Summary Oversees staff, project management, program development, implementation, and evaluation of school and education programs. Job Description Essential Functions: Leads the coordination, implementation and evaluation of school and community health education activities, in collaboration with clinical, research, administrative and community partners. Oversees and incorporates the work of education-related programs (e.g., kindergarten readiness, liaisons, movement & mentoring) into the broader School Health strategy. Optimizes pediatric health outcomes through developing and maintaining robust community and school partnerships as well as through leveraging school health programs and resources in coordination with healthcare delivery and community programming. Works with School-Based Health Team to plan, design and implement programming in the schools and community that promote a healthy lifestyle, empower youth to make informed decisions about their wellbeing and link youth to high quality medical care. Manages kindergarten readiness coordinators, health educators, school liaisons and movement and mentoring program team. Prepares reports for funders, NCH leadership and community stakeholders.
