Responsibilities:
Negotiate supplier pricing, lead times, and delivery quotations to secure the best deals.
Manage purchasing for strategic customers, ensuring their needs are met efficiently.
Collaborate closely with key functions to support commercial negotiations for new projects.
analyse complex data for multiple components, making informed purchasing decisions.
Ensure accurate use of the MRP system (Factory Master) to support purchasing and quoting activities.
Provide hands-on support during peak workloads and team absences.
Recruit, induct, and mentor new team members, fostering their professional growth.
Set department goals and contribute to continuous business improvement projects.
Present data and evaluate KPIs at management meetings, representing your department.
Maintain up-to-date procedures and practises, ensuring compliance during QA audits.Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
Experience as a senior buyer/purchasing manager.
Proficiency in ERP systems.
Exceptional leadership and management skills to guide your purchasing team.
Strong organisational and planning abilities.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills, particularly in Excel.
Proven problem-solving capabilities with a lateral thinking approach.
Outstanding communication skills for effective supplier and customer liaison.
