We are now seeking to recruit a Specialty Doctor to join our Older Persons community mental health services on a full time or part time basis. You will work in partnership with members of well-established multi-disciplinary teams, both operationally and strategically to drive forward innovation delivering the best effective care for our patients.
You will provide medical and psychiatric support to the Consultant Psychiatrists working in the service area and in the management of service users. The role will also involve working with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

You will already have a minimum of 4 years’ experience at Core Training level or above, of which a minimum of two years will be in the relevant specialty, hold registration with the General Medical Council with a licence to practice and have/be eligible for approval under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act. Possession of MRCPsych or equivalent is desirable. For those without MRCPsych, training towards this will be supported, if desired. This is also a great opportunity for those who are working towards entry onto the Specialist Register via the Portfolio route.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
* Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice at the time of appointment.
* Completed at least 4 years full time postgraduate training (or equivalent) at least 2 of which will be in a relevant specialty training programme
* MRC Psych or equivalent
* Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management
* Additional clinical qualifications
* Approved under S12 or willing to undergo training
Experience
* Previous adult experience in a community/inpatient setting
* Participated in continuous professional development
* Able to present papers at professional meetings
* Has actively participated in clinical audit and quality improvement programmes
* Previous experience in Old Age Psychiatry
* Previous experience of writing psychiatric legal reports
* Participated in research or service evaluation
