Regulatory Counsel - First Legal Appointment - Fixed Income Asset manager We have been exclusively mandated by a well-established and highly successful fixed income asset management firm looking to appoint their first in-house lawyer. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior lawyer with strong financial markets regulatory experience looking to take on a broad legal role. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the company's legal framework as it continues to grow. London based, 3 days in office. Key Responsibilities: Advise the business on a wide range of regulatory issues (EMIR/CSDR/FCA and SEC rules); Provide regulatory and drafting advice in respect of derivative and repo transactions; Liaise with external counsel on complex legal matters and ensure compliance with applicable regulations; Provide support to the business on general counsel issues, including drafting and negotiation of a range of commercial agreements (brokerage, confidentiality etc), contract review, dispute resolution, and corporate governance matters; Managing sustainability reporting requirements of the CSRD directive will be a major project to be focused on in 2025. Requirements: Qualified lawyer with 5yrs financial markets regulatory experience; Ability to work independently and provide practical legal advice to support business operations; Confidence and adaptability to lead on any ad-hoc legal issues that affect the business and provide real-time advice whilst involved in transaction discussions with the business; Strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate and build trusted relationships in a close-knit, fast-moving and entrepreneurial environment; Previous in-house experience is highly-desirable.
