Approach Personnel are working in conjunction with an established and growing main contractor to recruit an experienced Project Manager based in Leicestershire, Coventry, or South Birmingham. As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring that projects are planned, managed, financially controlled, and that reports are submitted as the needs of the project require. Additionally, you will work on construction and refurbishment projects of up to £5m in value across various sectors including healthcare, education, and commercial.
You will also be responsible for, but not limited to:
1. Ensuring that the allocated projects are run efficiently and profitably, ensuring full compliance with Health and Safety legislation and contract conditions, as well as completed to a high standard, in a safe working manner, within programme and to the total satisfaction of our client.
2. Overseeing Site Managers in the day-to-day running of projects and coordinating and monitoring subcontractors and suppliers.
3. Attending regular site meetings with clients, Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Planning Supervisors, etc.
4. Preparing reports, programmes, progress, and profitability reports.
5. Pricing and agreeing instructions with the client or client's agent.
6. Contributing to formulating valuations and final accounts.
7. Assisting with the preparation of tenders.
8. Procurement, negotiation of terms, and monitoring the performance of subcontractors and suppliers.
9. Supporting and monitoring Health & Safety practices and CDM Regulations on site.
To be considered and successful with this opportunity, you should have, but not limited to:
1. A qualification in Construction, Construction Management, or Building Studies and/or a trades background or equivalent.
2. Extensive experience managing construction and refurbishment projects across healthcare, education, and commercial, ideally from a main or principal contractor background.
3. Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations, and compliance.
4. CSC Card, SMSTS/SSSTS, and First Aid at work.
5. Flexibility to travel as projects are across the UK.
6. Successful applicants are required to undertake Enhanced DBS checks.
