We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Classroom Support to join a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Basildon. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is committed to supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) and ensuring they have the best possible learning environment.
As part of the SEND Team, you will play a key role in helping students with a variety of needs to thrive both academically and personally. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create an engaging, positive, and nurturing classroom environment. This full-time role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of young learners and is ideal for someone who is caring, empathetic, and driven by helping others succeed.
This role is offered on a temporary to permanent contract, providing excellent opportunities for personal and professional development in a supportive school setting. Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential, as we are looking for individuals with the right attitude and passion for working with SEN children. Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with additional needs.
* Help plan and deliver tailored interventions to support individual learning.
* Work closely with the SEND team to ensure pupils are supported in all aspects of their development.
* Assist in the management of challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.
* Collaborate with teachers to ensure lessons are accessible and engaging for all students.
* Encourage and support children in developing their independence and confidence.
* Maintain clear communication with staff and parents regarding pupil progress.
* Promote inclusion and diversity within the classroom and school environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Previous experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) is desirable but not essential.
* Ability to engage and motivate students with a variety of learning needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with pupils, teachers, and parents.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
* Knowledge of behaviour management strategies would be beneficial.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
