Manthorpe Building Products is a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of plastic injection moulded, vacuum formed and extruded products for the building industry.
Role Overview: Working in conjunction with the Development department, Sales Director and Production department; responsible for the research, design and project management of new products and the development and technical support of existing products for both new build and refurbishment building industries.
Key Responsibilities:

Research current market and investigate changes in the building industry to highlight new product ideas and opportunities.
*
Establish design briefs and write product design specifications to aid design process.
*
Use traditional sketching/modelling and modern CAD and rapid prototyping methods to produce concept designs for review.
*
Use 3D CAD software, identifying suitable materials and manufacturing methods to develop ideas into commercially viable products.
*
Produce 2D technical drawing and other technical documentation to support products through the manufacturing process.
*
Evaluate and test models and final parts to ensure they meet standards and specifications.
*
Use IT to write technical literature and fitting instruction.
*
Provide and assist with technical support for other departments as required.
*
Conduct research, data collection and analysis to support process improvement initiatives and decision making in manufacturing.
Skills & Requirements:
*
Graduate or equivalent in industrial product design or engineering design discipline.
*
Experienced in the use of 3d CAD software (Ideally Pro Engineer/Creo parametric).
*
Basic understanding of engineering principles, fundamentals, and concepts.
*
Can effectively communicate, collaborate with team members, and contribute to group projects & tasks.
*
Proficient in Microsoft Office and a good understanding of Adobe creative suite.
*
Demonstrates the potential for problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills, and is willing to engage in practical tasks and projects to further develop their skills.
*
Perform any other duties as appropriate within skills/competency level.

Working Hours & Benefits:

Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
