About Us
Aldridge Education is a family of schools, locally within the Northwest and these include Darwen Aldridge Community Academy, Darwen Aldridge Enterprise Studio, Darwen Vale High School and Sudell Primary School.
Aldridge Education is a charitable Trust of entrepreneurial community schools and colleges that help young people to reach their potential. We support our schools Principals and Teachers in rapidly improving the quality of education on offer at early years, primary, secondary and sixth-form levels in order to transform the life-chances of our students.
About the Role
An opportunity has arisen to join the national team employed by Aldridge Education as CIAG Careers Advisor.
We are looking for self-motivated, innovative, Careers Advisor which covers Darwen Aldridge Community Academy, Darwen Aldridge Enterprise Studio and Darwen Vale High School. Regular travel between sites will be required. You may be required to visit other sites within the Trust and attend national events as and when required.
Our aim is to ensure all our pupils have access to high quality careers guidance and activities, across their time in an Aldridge school.
As a member of Aldridge Education staff, you will be a key member of the Personal Development team in each school and contribute to the ongoing development of careers. This is a pivotal role, guiding young people in making successful, aspirational plans for their next steps.
The role will involve arranging, conducting, and recording careers meetings, across all age groups, alongside supporting the Careers Leader with other careers related activities as required to support the strategic careers plan.
You will lead on 1-2-1 careers meetings, but also group work with younger students, and some work supporting parents/careers. Where schools have sixth form provision, we would anticipate you working alongside our sixth form teams to ensure pupils are ready for their next steps with university, apprenticeships, or employment. There will be careers events both in person and virtually, and you may be required to support with these.
As this is a new position, we are keen to hear from individuals able to bring their own ideas to the role, enabling them to make a positive contribution to the career education of all of our pupils. The role is term time + INSET + 1 Week including results days (40 weeks), with negotiation around additional weeks/full-time for candidates able to offer additional careers related services to schools.
