So, what will the role of a Civil Engineering Technician entail?
An enthusiastic Civil Engineering Technician is required to support the expansion of the Digital Design and Modelling and engineering design teams. This is a superb opportunity to work on a wide range of multi-disciplinary projects in different sectors including education, commercial, industrial, residential, health, rail and infrastructure, and energy and waste.
Making a significant contribution to the day-to-day preparation and delivery of technical design information, whilst enjoying the flexibility of working from office and home. Your responsibilities will include:
* Preparation of detailed Civil Engineering drawings using Civils 3d / Site 3D / Auto Track
* Highways adoption applications Section 38 / 278
* Water company adoption applications Section 104 / 106
* Road alignments and corridor design
* Site wide Cut and Fill analysis
* Liaising with other members of the design team (either internal or external)
* Liaising with contractors, clients, third party organisations and stakeholders, answering queries in relation to technical detailing
* Occasional visits to sites for surveys / inspections
* Continuing to develop and promote the BIM strategy within the business
* Ensuring the quality procedures are adhered to
* Document transmittal to external parties
* Complying with designers’ duties under the CDM Regulations
What will I need in order to be considered for this role?
* Ambition, commitment and integrity
* At least 6 years post qualification experience as a technician working on infrastructure / highways / drainage / heavy civils projects
* A minimum HNC / HND or equivalent
* Good experience of using Civils 3D / Site 3D and other Autodesk software
* Some exposure to Causeway Flow or MicroDrainage design software
* Experience in Highways adoption applications Section 38 / 278
* Experience in Water company adoption applications Section 104 / 106
* Experience working with road alignments and corridor design
* Exposure to cut and fill analysis
* Experience using vehicle tracking software
* Exposure to working in a BIM Level 2 / ISO19650 environment
* Client focused approach with good interpersonal and communication skills
* Strong attention to detail
* Working towards EngTech with the Institution of Civils Engineers would be advantageous
* UK driving license and own transport
* High level of written and spoken English
* Based in the UK
