We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Pharmacist to be the one of the first to join our team at HMP Millsike, a brand new Category B men's prison, located in the village of Full Sutton near York
HMP Millsike will have an operational capacity of 1500 people who will spend their sentences learning the skills they need to find work on release as part of the governments drive to cut reoffending. The prison site is currently under construction and Practice Plus Group were recently awarded the healthcare contract to begin delivering services in April 2025.
This is a rare opportunity to be part of a new healthcare team from the inception of a brand new prison site.
Salary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary of between £47,250 to £53,025 per annum depending on experience

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main duties of the job
As the Clinical Pharmacist your responsibilities will vary. You will:
1. Have overall responsibility running the pharmacy
2. Provide leadership and support to the dedicated pharmacy team and them wider healthcare team around all aspects of safe use and handling of medicines within the secure environment.
3. Ensure that there is good partnership working between teams to ensure that safe and effective patient centred care is at the core of what we do and in line with our wellbeing approach.
4. Continually develop your professional knowledge and skills and be expected to facilitate your own prescribing clinics within your sphere of competence. You will understand cost effective prescribing practices and ensure these are implemented across the team of prescribers and empower the pharmacy team to challenge inappropriate prescribing

Qualifications & Experience
12. Registered Pharmacist - holding registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
13. Vocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy including pre-registration training
14. Relevant post qualification
