Job Description:
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation with various offices across Scotland, is currently looking to recruit an Organisational Design Consultant for an initial 6 month contract with an option to extend on a rate of £500-£600/day (Outside IR35). This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office.
Responsibilities:
1. Be an experienced practitioner in organisational design who will coach and mentor team members in organisational design throughout the duration of their appointment.
2. Support the workstream lead in sharing knowledge and experience of reviewing the four key areas of this workstream in large organisations.
3. Be a pivotal member of the Delivery Team that has been set up to effectively manage this workstream, sharing knowledge and insights when relevant.
4. Engage in the extensive consultation exercise with the team to capture views from our people in relation to the core areas of this workstream.
5. Support the Workstream Lead in consultation exercises with senior staff across the organisation.
6. Work with the team to capture emerging themes and trends from the consultation process.
7. Support the team in the assessment of culture within the organisation through the design of effective questions for this assessment.
8. Utilise their experience to ensure the team are asking relevant questions during our consultation to capture data to aid evidence-based recommendations.
9. Support the Workstream Lead at project boards/Functional management meetings, bringing an independent perspective to validate the approach with this workstream.
10. Advise workstream on organisational design and structures – capitalising on previous experience to aid evidence-based recommendations.
11. Participate in engaging communications with staff to maximise engagement through the consultation process.
12. Participate in regular team meetings to share experience, reflect on consultations carried out, and recommend techniques to overcome future barriers/challenges.
13. Experience of carrying out extensive consultation exercises to support decision making associated with management structures, management spans, and roles and responsibilities.
14. Experience of re-designing management structures, management spans, and management roles and responsibilities in a large organisation and making evidence-based recommendations in relation to this.
15. Experience of communicating with people at senior levels with the ability to positively influence people to view matters differently and from alternative perspectives.
16. A team player, who can work at pace in a supportive environment.
17. Understanding of how organisational design links to strategy.
18. Relevant qualification, CIPD Level Seven Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management, master’s in human resource management or BA in Human Resource Management.
19. Knowledge of Microsoft Packages such as Teams, Whiteboard, Excel, and Outlook.
