IKEA Reading are looking to welcome a Checkout Assistant to join our customer service team.
A checkout assistant at IKEA makes payments a breeze and ensures customers leave with a smile!
WHAT WE OFFER
1. The Start Date of employment will be: 17th of May 2025
2. Competitive hourly rate of £13.25 per hour.
3. 12 and 16 Hours working 2/3/4 days per week (dependent on contract size) you will receive every 4th weekend off.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE
1. You prefer to take initiative, are adept at juggling several responsibilities at once, and value teamwork while also being able to complete assignments without direct supervision.
2. You have a customer first mindset, where you make the customer feel valued and supported in everything you do.
3. You are computer literate and able to work with technology.
4. The confidence to maintain composure and patience when dealing with a variety of customers and complex complaints.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
1. You have the knowledge, and desire to make customer payment easy. Using the till to accurately register products and register payment from customers according to given routines.
2. You ensure our store is always a safe and secure environment for visitors and colleagues and follow cash handling procedures to ensure the security of money handling.
3. You ensure accurate scanning of all products to allow our customers to have full availability of our range.
