Job Summary A GOOD-rated school in Southwark is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis, starting as soon as possible. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Responsibilities and Duties Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support to students with additional learning needs. Assist the class teacher in creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment. Support children across the curriculum, ensuring their academic, social, and emotional needs are met. Develop resources and strategies to support students’ learning objectives. Promote positive behavior management and support children in building confidence and independence. Liaise with parents, teachers, and other staff to provide updates on student progress. Contribute to a safe and caring environment, adhering to safeguarding and child protection policies. Qualifications and Skills Essential: Previous experience working with children, ideally within an educational setting. A good understanding of strategies for supporting children with additional needs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Commitment to promoting the welfare and development of all students. Desirable: Experience supporting SEN students in a primary or secondary school setting. Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certificate or equivalent. Knowledge of the National Curriculum.
