Dementia Specialist Care and Support Worker - Leeds / Bradford - Full time - £12.30 p/h (upon completion of all training & compliance)
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Dementia Specialist Care & Support Worker to support clients living with a diagnosis of Dementia in all aspects of their day-to-day living.
The role will involve primarily working independently at clients' homes delivering personalised, safe, and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Aspects of personal care such as showering and bathing, dressing, and grooming, dental hygiene, toileting, and continence care.
2. Supporting your clients to eat and drink well.
3. The safe usage of personal equipment and aids whilst respecting the dignity of the client.
4. Supporting the client with social and physical activities such as staying connected with friends/relatives, shopping, and social networking.
5. Assisting with medications.
6. Responding to emergencies, accidents, incidents, and safeguarding matters, ensuring effective communication with families, carers, and other professionals.
7. Keeping all information about clients and their families secure and confidential.
8. Working well as part of the Care 24-7 team.
9. Attending training activities, supervision, and appraisal meetings.
Requirements:
1. Health and Social Care Level 2 minimum.
2. Dementia awareness certification at level 2.
3. Right to work within the UK.
4. Full UK driver's licence.
5. Prior experience in a similar role.
6. Commitment to ongoing training and development.
7. Dedication to supporting individuals living with dementia to enhance their quality of life.
8. A good standard of English both spoken and written and the ability to communicate effectively.
9. A warm, compassionate, and personable nature with the ability to work with patience, tact, and understanding.
10. Access to a smart phone with internet access.
