The opportunity
The EY Private Client Services team in Belfast acts for a wide range of high net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, private equity principals, high profile professional partnerships, and senior executives, as well as onshore and offshore trusts. The services that we deliver include tax return compliance services, transaction and reorganisation advice, advice on optimisation of wealth from a tax perspective, and estate and succession tax advice. Our client base is a mix of UK and non-UK domiciled individuals.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing team with proven progression potential. The right individual will gain exposure to interesting and complex personal tax compliance work, with full technical support from the senior team. Additionally, the individual will have the opportunity to work with more senior team members on tax advisory projects, private equity fund reporting, transaction analysis, and develop their skills to become a skilled and knowledgeable private client tax advisor.
Your key responsibilities
* Efficient preparation of a mixed portfolio of private client tax compliance tax returns supported by senior team members
* Responsible for day-to-day maintenance on client engagements
* Assisting with research and preparatory work to support the wider team on non-compliance/Advisory work
* Build and maintain tax relationships with clients and colleagues. You will be expected to work collaboratively with people within your team and also in other EY offices
* Other relevant duties as required
Skills and attributes for success
* Ability to take your own initiative, plan and prioritise work
* Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate well with clients, providing high levels of client service
* Ability to work flexibly and willing to support other EY teams when needed
* Computer literacy and being willing to learn how to use new skills and processes as we move forward with Making Tax Digital.
* Being able to demonstrate professionalism and self-assurance.
* Experience in using Microsoft Excel
Qualifications
* Achieved at least a 2:1 in an undergraduate degree, and prepared to study and pass ATT with full study support
* Or at least 2 years’ experience in a professional services environment, prepared to study and pass ATT with full study support
* CTA qualification with full study support may be offered as career development for the right individual.
