Female Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker required to assist a person with Dementia living in the Hamilton area.
You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home, and in the community including attending to personal care and participation in social activities. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:
· Attending to all personal care needs (showering, toileting including bowel movements, shaving)
· Assisting with medication
· Preparing meals and healthy snacks
· Walking
· Assisting with physical activities
· Household shopping and collecting prescriptions
· Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
Driver essential and you will be required to use your own vehicle – mileage allowance will be paid.
Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.
Favourite activities are walking and listening to the radio.
Pets in the household – you must be comfortable working with a cat in the home.
Experience in social care is essential with knowledge of dementia preferred.
The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Gerry is married to Angie, who works on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. This caring role is to cover the days that Angie is working. We have a 14-year-old son who is at school during the day.
Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility)
Recruiting for (2 positions).
Guaranteed permanent position of 13.5 per week each Pa
Days and times:
Set shifts at set times OR weekly rota
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (7.30am-4.30pm)
Occasional weekends and evenings may be required – to be discussed at interview
Hourly rate:
£12.00 per hour
