The School and Role
This specialist education and care service caters for young people aged 11-18 years with a range of needs. These include social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, complex needs such as attachment disorders, trauma or anxiety, a high functioning autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), pathological demand avoidance (PDA) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The role requires a Sports Coach / SEND Teaching assistant to transfer into a classroom setting, to work as a Behavioural Support Worker. This could be through P.E based activities and supporting in lessons such as food technology, Maths and English.
Set in Chesterfield, this school specialises in the education of students who have education health care plans for SEMH or have been permanently or temporarily excluded from mainstream school, due to being disengaged from education. Needs of students may include social, emotional and mental health difficulties and SEND including ASD, ADHD, PDA and attachment disorders, through a holistic therapeutic approach.
