We are seeking a thorough Maintenance Technician with a practical mind and attention to detail who will oversee the upkeep of our facilities and ensure the continued stability of our operations. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines.
Key Attributes:
1. Mechanical/Electrical based apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
2. 6+ years’ Maintenance Technician experience (electrical), preferably in a manufacturing environment.
3. Leadership skills or previous supervisory experience an advantage.
4. Experience with PLC systems or completed PLC Training an advantage.
5. Decisive with the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively to meet deadlines.
6. Excellent numeric and analytical skills.
7. Highly motivated with proven ability to work on own initiative.
8. Ability to multitask and focus on high standards.
9. Team player capable of working independently and collaboratively to achieve company goals.
10. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify practical solutions quickly.
Key Tasks and Duties:
1. Work within the ethos and standards of the company.
2. Troubleshoot and repair all factory equipment - electrical, electronic, pneumatic, mechanical, and PLC.
3. Identify root causes of problems and suggest process improvements for long-term solutions.
4. Maximize production efficiency and restore full capacity promptly after breakdowns.
5. Record all breakdowns in our SAP CMMS system.
6. Perform Preventative Maintenance as per schedules and improve PMs to prevent re-occurrence.
7. Maintain spare parts stock systems and source spare parts as needed.
8. Dismantle, adjust, modify, improve, and assemble factory equipment based on plans and manuals.
9. Participate in machine installations, continuous improvements, and maintenance projects.
10. Work with Maintenance Supervisor to address downtime causes and suggest improvements.
11. Ensure achievement of all production & maintenance KPIs.
12. Maintain a safe, clean working environment and adhere to safety standards.
13. Coordinate with relevant departments for smooth daily operations.
14. Undertake additional tasks as requested by management.
15. Complete necessary training (e.g., MEWP, Forklift, First Aid, etc.).
16. Provide cover for the Maintenance Supervisor and liaise with contractors.
17. Work flexible hours, including night shifts if required, and be available for overtime.
18. Complete advanced training (IOSH, Duty Holder, ERT, etc.) and participate in CI and Capex projects.
19. Mentor MT2s & apprentices in problem-solving and development.
