The De Beers Group Safety and Sustainable Development team is responsible for shaping the De Beers “Building Forever” sustainability approach, driving delivery throughout the business and monitoring performance. This includes defining the Functional, National/Regional, and local (risks, strategy, standards, talent, performance management and assurance) requirements. The Safety & Sustainability Administrator Non-Mining role is critical for SSD systems administration and management of safety and sustainability risk within non-mining operations.
Job Description
This role will involve implementing the De Beers Group Safety, Health and Environmental requirements, SHE requirements. Plan, implement, monitor, and review the protective and preventative measures that the Non-Mining Operations (midstream and downstream) are required to follow and work to minimise operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents, and injuries.
In this role you will help execute a key pillar of Building forever; the commitment to be carbon neutral within our operations (Scope 1 and 2) by 2030, and Scope 3 by 2040. IsoMetrix Site Administrator and all training-related support as required. Capture and monitor relevant safety course assignments in the management system across midstream and downstream.
Key Tasks:
* Supports with the implementation of the Operational Risk Management (ORM) process within the business. This will be in conjunction with the local team, ensuring that the correct risk assessment tool is selected.
* Provides front line technical support for IsoMetrix queries raised by Users across the various business units.
* Responsible for the capture of data and maintenance of records within IsoMetrix, for example the SHE is training matrix, obtaining data for recording into Objectives and Targets.
* Responsible for reporting on corporate governance requirements to include monthly SHE metrics, status of Actions and external submission of compliance data.
* Provides administrative functions to include procurement and issue of eye test vouchers, processing of invoices through to Finance, assists with the identification of training providers and scheduling of training.
* Provide administrative function in operational management system data capture (IsoMetrix), and monitoring of incident reports and applicable action plans, as required.
* Participate in SHE Group Peer Meetings where required.
* Liaising with external consultants and service providers.
Qualifications
* Holds a degree in a relevant technical or SHE discipline.
* Trained to Site Administrator level in IsoMetrix (AA Project Sentinel version).
* Advanced Learning from Incidents training.
* Working towards or completion of De Beers Risk Practitioners course.
* Working towards or has completed a “train the trainer qualification” for ORM.
* Good working knowledge of conventional computer software packages and ability to learn bespoke packages used by the department.
* Ability to problem solve with information at their disposal.
* Understands own role in relation to the team and how it contributes.
* Ability to manage internal stakeholders to achieve objectives.
* Able to oversee several projects at once.
* Time management: Prioritise, structure work & effectively manage time.
* Excellent communicator with the ability to communicate at all levels across the business and externally – able to give clarity and set direction.
* High standard of numeracy and writing skills.
* Ability to prioritise and demonstrate flexibility by switching between routine and challenging tasks at short notice.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
* High level of self-motivation and confidence; able to engage with Group colleagues at all levels.
