Hours: 21 hours per week - This is a part-time salaried role for 3 days a week – Mon, Tue, and Wed.
We are looking for an experienced tutor to lead the Fine Art Pathway on our Foundation in Art and Design (FAD) at WM College.
We run an outstanding provision with up to 60 learners across 3 pathways, and we are looking for a suitable candidate to join the team and maintain the high quality of teaching, learning, and support we offer.
Skills and Experience Required
Applicants must have experience of teaching and assessing accredited L3 courses, preferably with industry/creative practice experience.
We would prefer knowledge of teaching in a broad spectrum of fine art practices including areas such as painting, sculpture, video, digital, performance, community practice, curation, and sound.
This is a salaried role that has a broad remit:
* Leading the Fine Arts Pathway
Planning content, writing briefs, marking, tutorials, and supporting learner achievement in line with UAL Assessment Criteria.
* Teaching on the Fine Arts Pathway
Delivering specialist workshops, supporting the production of creative work, specialist portfolios, digital submissions, and delivering verbal and written feedback.
* Supporting learner attendance and achievement
Supporting applications to progress into higher education, work experience, and employment, as well as providing pastoral support for learners.
You will be working with an experienced team of tutors and the course coordinator, and co-teach with other Fine Arts tutors to deliver a specialist experience to learners on the Fine Arts Pathway. We have a flexible approach to the team, including teaching across other pathways and swapping teaching days where required.
The role is permanent 0.6, with a probation period and paid holidays. It is 21 hours per week working Mon 9-5pm, Tue 9-5pm, and Wed 9-5pm.
Teaching commitment: September – July during term time.
Non-teaching time is for activities including managing the pathway, admin, planning, meetings, interviews, marking, and assessment.
