The Department of Physics has a stimulating, inclusive, highly supportive and friendly environment. Its Learning, Teaching and Assessment strategy is to deliver high-quality, research-informed programmes of study that introduce students to the latest advances in physics, whilst also covering core physics concepts and developing the skills necessary to work in a variety of professional contexts.
In order to strengthen its teaching activities, the Department is now inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Teaching Associate to support the delivery of its undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. You will be qualified to PhD level and be capable of delivering both established teaching modules and student assessment activities and be able to develop new course material. In this teaching role, you will use your experience and awareness of teaching and assessing undergraduates to engage students with a wide range of educational backgrounds to become independent learners. You will have excellent oral and written communication skills, be adept at communicating complex materials in an accessible manner and be able to plan and manage your own workload independently.
