Join Lucideon as an Operations Manager!
Lucideon are industry leaders in the testing of construction products and components, with the largest commercial structural testing laboratory in the world. We are looking for a pro-active and experienced Operations Manager to join our Structures team.
Job Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to manage the operational performance of the Structures & Construction project and test laboratory. This will require collaboration with the Business Manager, Technical Manager and Commercial teams to ensure that scopes of work for projects are translated into work packages for the engineers on site.
You will be required to liaise extensively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, and therefore will require a collaborative, team player approach, combined with a desire to work in a results-oriented environment, developing high level and long-term business relationships within our client base, whilst driving improved business performance through efficient delivery.
It is essential that the incumbent understands construction and structural materials, and applications alongside knowledge of hydraulic, electro-mechanical methods, with strong people management organisational skills, exceptional communication skills and a strong work ethic.
The incumbent will need to have an active presence on the shop floor, bringing our diverse team together and ensuring the smooth and efficient planning and delivery of all work coming into the lab.
This role could suit a wide range of people, including those with site project management experience, construction experience, wide-range test-centre experience or complex production experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Management of our team of highly skilled engineers and technicians (c.15)
* Consistently achieve budget expectations for revenue delivery and margin
* Drive additional efficiencies from operating methods and highlighting investments to improve performance through personal and team activities
* Work collaboratively with the Technical Consultant and Commercial teams to develop and commercialise successful new services of scale, aligned with prevailing Lucideon business strategy
* Ensuring that Lucideon pricing and margin requirements are correctly met and ultimately achieved on client proposals, as well as adherence to Delegated Authority criteria
* Provide effective management information and reporting on the capability performance
* Ensure the smooth and efficient planning of all work coming into the lab, liaising with the Business Manager, Technical Manager and Commercial teams.

Qualifications:
* Qualifications or relevant experience in construction or mechanical engineering
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
* Operational management and leadership experience
* Exceptional people leadership and time management
* Financial management experience, e.g., budgets, P&L management, quote preparations, etc, would be a distinct advantage
* Ability to work in a one team manner to resolve any challenges arising internally or externally
* Exceptional communication skills both written and oral at all levels of seniority
* Experience in getting business(es) ready for growth, change management and continuous improvement would be an advantage
* Office suite competent, with the ability to work with internal software and CRMs
* Willing to travel to client meetings and operational sites within the UK
* Full driving license
