We are currently working with a rapidly growing managing agent to recruit an Underwriting Management Consultant. The successful candidate will review and align our underwriting framework with Lloyd’s “Principles for Doing Business,” focusing on the Underwriting Profitability Principle. The role involves gap analysis and supporting regulatory self-attestation to ensure compliance and future growth.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to;
* Perform a comprehensive review of the Lloyd’s Underwriting Profitability Principle and sub-principles.
* Assess alignment with PMA Policy and Procedure documentation.
* Evaluate live syndicate-specific policies, procedures, and guidelines.
* Review governance committees and Terms of Reference for PMA and syndicates.
* Analyse Management Information (MI) reporting (current and in development).
* Conduct a maturity assessment of syndicates, identifying gaps between current and desired standards.
* Provide actionable recommendations to close identified gaps.
* Complete self-attestation for the Underwriting Profitability Principle and ensure documentation aligns with Lloyd’s expectations.
The ideal candidate should have;
* Strong understanding of Lloyd’s Principles for Doing Business, especially Underwriting Profitability.
* Proven experience in gap analysis, compliance, and operational maturity assessments in the Lloyd’s or London market.
* Familiar with syndicate operations, governance structures, and MI reporting.
* Excellent documentation and reporting skills, with the ability to translate complex regulations into actionable recommendations.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to work independently and efficiently.
