Turning Point Care is a family run business in Enfield, North London. We provide a safe foundation for children and young people to express themselves and make better choices in the way they unpack their emotions. We offer support, care and accommodation for young people aged between 10-17yrs. Our aim is to enable them to live and reach their full potential whist helping them manage past experience .
Our organisation is currently seeking a Residential Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have QCF level 3 Health and Social Care in CYP, and a minimum 1year experience working with young people.
Purpose of the post.
To provide advise, assistant and support to young people.
To attend to their practical, physical and emotional needs.
To act as a n appropriate role model and to work closely with them to enable them to address their difficulties and achieve their optimum potential.
Be capable of prioritising, working independently when necessary and able to communicate with a variety of people.
This will be a challenging job for an energetic and dedicated individual who wants to help make a change in young people's lives.
Responsibilities:
To maintain a high quality of care and support which meets the physical, emotional,intellectual,social and cultural needs of children and young people.
To provide a caring, supportive and nurturing environment in which children/young people feel secure and free from harm.
Establish positive relationships with young people, always offering them unconditional and positive regard.
Ensuring each young person's care plan is followed and amended as appropriate to reflect their changing needs.
Attend to practical matters in relation to childcare (cooking ,general maintenance around the home etc)
Provide emotional support at times of difficulties and stress.
Keep accurate records and providing written reports on young people for planning meetings, reviews or any other meetings as directed by the line manager.
Act as an advocate at meetings where the young person is the subject of discussion.
Provide advice, assistance and support on a 1:1 basis to enable young people to address past and present difficulties.
Be aware of the aims and objectives of the home and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve them.
