This post will provide access to health and social support opportunities for people diagnosed or awaiting diagnosis for Autism Spectrum Disorder (non-LD).
The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) setting and will be expected to work unsupervised at times within the community.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist with the continuity of care for service users within the appropriate care setting and will work primarily in the community.
Main duties include:
1. Facilitate and support the development of appropriate personal care.
2. Facilitate and support self-help, communication, and social skills acquisition.
3. Assist and promote independence with activities of daily living.
4. Facilitate service user recovery by assisting participation in social, vocational, recreational, and leisure activities.
5. Promote social inclusion through developing opportunities in employment, volunteering, and education.
6. Participate in the implementation of care or therapy programs under supervision.
7. Engage in reflective practice and continued development.
8. Maintain appropriate records under the direction of the qualified practitioner.
9. Work collaboratively within the Care team to ensure service user needs are met.
10. Recognize and respond to urgent and emergency situations.
11. Contribute to service improvement initiatives.
12. Support individuals' equality, diversity, and rights.

Qualifications
* NVQ 3 or equivalent level of experience within a care setting.
Knowledge/Experience
* Ability to function effectively as a team member.
* Experience of working with persons within the appropriate care setting and their carers.
* Basic understanding of NHS issues and the Mental Health Act.
* Knowledge of safeguarding guidelines.
* Overview of acute mental health-related issues.
