Job Title: Virtual Desktop/Migration Engineer
Job Description
Provide end-user and user migration support ensuring application quality and performance through QA & UAT testing of Golden Image. Handle deployment tasks, manage user access, and troubleshoot application issues. Optimise infrastructure with cluster rebalancing, manage change requests, and support user migrations to ensure smooth transitions.
Lead and assist with migration issues in the region including:
• Identify and track all issues related to migration in the region.
• Work with corresponding tech teams to troubleshoot and find resolutions to migration issues. Share information with peers in APAC and AMRS.
• Work with end-users to resolve their migration issues.
• Collaborate with Service Desk and GMSS support for end-users.
• Support efforts for application QA and UAT in the region.
• Manage application entitlement for PROD and QA+UAT.
• Deliver App Vol applications through UAR analysis, user selection for migration, and coordination with app teams to prioritise apps.
• Support legacy HVDs reclamation efforts in collaboration with C&C.
• Report locally to the regional PM.
Essential Skills
1. End user support & VIP support experience
2. Strong experience with Windows 10 OS (Windows 11 OS experience is advantageous)
3. In-depth knowledge of VMware technologies – vCenter (VC), Horizon Cloud Service (HCS), Application Virtualization Manager (AVM), vSAN, Network File System (NFS), L2 VMware
4. Understanding of end-to-end processes and component interactions
5. Migration and application troubleshooting
6. Windows administration and operations – networks, storage, active directory
7. Strong problem-solving and communication skills
8. Experience with change management processes, cluster rebalancing & retrofitting
9. PowerShell Scripting

Work Site
This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Camberley, England and some days remote.
